Terms of Use
Last updated September 29, 2026
The short version. You must be 13 or older to play. Your recordings stay on your device until you choose to post
them. The Dumblit beats are licensed to you only for posting your own runs on social media. Keep your bars legal and
respectful. If you post a run publicly or tag us, Dumblit can use it in its marketing and ads, including paid ads,
with your handle, voice and likeness, without paying you (section 4). If you post a run for a chance to be featured, the Official Feature Rules
apply, and you must put #contest in your caption.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Dumblit, Inc. ("Dumblit", "we", "us"). They cover the You Got Bars game at dumblit.com/games/yougotbars and any app version of it (the "Game"). By playing, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Game.
1. Who can play
- You must be at least 13 years old. The Game is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
- If you are under 18, you must have your parent's or legal guardian's permission to play and to post recordings. Your parent or guardian agrees to these Terms for you.
- You need an Instagram handle to play. You must enter a handle you own or control. Don't enter someone else's handle.
2. Camera, microphone and other people
- If you turn on recording, the Game uses your camera and microphone. Your browser asks your permission first, and you can turn recording off at any time in the round settings.
- Only record people who agreed to be recorded. That includes the other player in Battle mode and anyone else in the frame. If anyone in the video is under 18, you need their parent's or guardian's permission before you post it.
- Don't record in places where people expect privacy, and follow the recording laws where you are.
3. The beats and the Game belong to Dumblit
- The beats, the You Got Bars name and logo, the Dumblit name and logo, the word lists, the artwork and the software are owned by Dumblit or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
- What you may do: record yourself freestyling over a beat inside the Game, then save that recording and post it, unedited or lightly edited, on your personal social media accounts. Keep the You Got Bars and Dumblit branding in the video.
- What you may not do:
- Rip, extract, download or reuse the beats outside the Game.
- Release, sell, stream or distribute a recording or song that uses a Dumblit beat. That includes Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube Music and any distributor. To use a beat in a real release, you need a separate license from Dumblit.
- Remove the branding.
- Claim the beat as your own, or file a content ID or copyright claim on it.
- Use the Game or the recordings in advertising for yourself or anyone else. Dumblit's own marketing use is covered in section 4.
- This license is personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable. It ends if you break these Terms.
4. Your recordings and your bars
- You keep ownership of your own performance: your voice, your lyrics and your likeness.
- Marketing and advertising license. This applies to any recording made with the Game that you post anywhere
public, tag or Collab with @yougotbarsofficial or @dumblitstudios, submit to the Game's gallery and
leaderboard, or send to us. You give Dumblit a
worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable and sublicensable license to use it for any marketing,
promotional or advertising purpose, including paid ads, in any media now known or later developed. That includes
your name, handle, voice, likeness and performance as they appear in the recording. Dumblit may:
- copy, repost, display and publish it
- edit, cut down, caption, translate and adapt it
- combine it with other material
- use it to promote You Got Bars, Dumblit, and Dumblit's artists, beats, events and partners
- You won't be paid for this use, and you don't approve each use in advance.
- Dumblit won't present you as personally endorsing a third-party product, or as saying something you didn't say, without your separate permission.
- You can ask us to stop at studios@dumblitinc.com. We'll stop starting new uses within a reasonable time and take reposts down from our accounts. Ads already booked or printed may finish their scheduled run. Copies other people already shared may remain.
- Players under 18: your parent or guardian grants this license for you. Dumblit won't use a minor's recording in paid advertising without a separate written release signed by a parent or guardian.
- Before using a recording in paid advertising, Dumblit may ask you, and anyone else in it, to sign a short release.
- You promise that your recording:
- is your own original performance
- contains no music other than the Dumblit beat
- doesn't infringe anyone's rights
- includes only people who agreed to be in it, including Dumblit's marketing use described above
5. Keep it clean enough
Freestyle is freestyle, but you may not use the Game, or post or submit recordings, that:
- threaten, harass, bully or dox anyone
- promote violence, self-harm or illegal activity
- contain hate speech or attack people for who they are
- are sexually explicit, or sexualize anyone under 18 in any way
- impersonate someone or misuse another person's name or handle
- break Instagram's or any other platform's rules
Zero tolerance. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive players. Dumblit won't repost or feature content like this. Dumblit reviews reports and acts on them within 24 hours: it removes the content from the gallery, removes the player's other runs and can refuse their future submissions, and may report it to the platform where it was posted.
In the gallery, tap ⋯ on any run to report it or to block the player. Blocking hides that player's runs on your device and lets Dumblit know. Handles with slurs or sexual terms can't be submitted.
6. Posting, submitting and voting
- When you post, you're using Instagram (Meta) or another app under that app's terms and privacy policy, not ours. You're responsible for what you post.
- The Game is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or Meta.
- If you post for a chance to be featured, include
#contestin your caption. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules require posts made for a chance to win something to say so clearly. See the Official Feature Rules. - Submitting to the gallery and leaderboard is for players 18 and older. A submitted run goes public right away at dumblit.com/games/yougotbars/gallery with the Instagram handle on it, and anyone can watch, share and vote on it. Only submit your own runs under your own handle. You can submit as many runs as you like.
- Dumblit may hide or remove any submitted run at any time, for any reason, without notice. Ask us to take yours down at studios@dumblitinc.com.
- Voting is one vote per device per run, with no sign-in. Don't try to game it: no bots, scripts, bought votes or vote farms. Dumblit may remove votes or runs it believes were manipulated. Votes and rankings are for fun and bragging rights; they don't by themselves decide who gets featured.
7. Sponsors
Some rounds show sponsor logos. Sponsors don't pay you, and you don't have to mention them. Posting a run doesn't make you an endorser of any sponsor. Don't describe a sponsor's products in a way that suggests you were paid unless that's true, and if it is, disclose it.
8. Scams
Dumblit will never:
- ask for your password, a login code or payment
- ask you to click a link to "claim" a feature
We only contact you from @yougotbarsofficial or @dumblitstudios. Report copycat accounts to Instagram.
9. The Game is provided "as is"
We work to keep the Game running and the beats in time. It is still provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. The auto judge is software and makes mistakes. Scores and rankings are for fun, are stored on your device, and have no cash value.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Dumblit, its owners, employees and partners aren't liable for:
- indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages
- anything you or others post
- how third-party apps handle your content
- lost data or recordings
Our total liability for any claim about the Game is limited to $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold Dumblit harmless from claims that come from your recordings, your posts, or your breaking these Terms or someone else's rights.
12. Changes and ending
We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the date above, and the Game will ask you to agree again before your next round. We may suspend or end the Game, or your access to it, at any time.
13. Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where Dumblit, Inc. has its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of where you live.

15. If you got the Game through Apple's App Store
If you play the Game in the Dumblit app downloaded from Apple's App Store, these extra terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and Dumblit only, not Apple. Dumblit, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license to the app is limited to using it on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Contact Dumblit for help.
- If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund the price you paid for it (if any). To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Dumblit, not Apple, handles any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer-protection or privacy claims.
- If someone claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, Dumblit, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling and resolving that claim.
- You confirm you are not in a country under a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and you're not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must also follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your wireless carrier's.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
